A continually evolving natural playspace is the focus for Karen, Neta, Natasha and administrator Sophie. They enjoy the natural outdoor environment and our children appreciate the trees and open spaces to play in.

The colourful interior of Parkway reflects the creativity of our children and their cultures.

Our philosophy

‘He waka eke noa’

‘A canoe which we are all in with no exception' (we are all in this together)

Our values as teachers at Parkway Kindergarten are:

  • Whanaungatanga (Relationships)
As teachers our role is to support children to explore and construct new understandings, knowledge and skills, and develop dispositions towards learning.

  • Motuhake (Independance)
That children have a positive sense of self-worth, identity, self-esteem, independence and confidence with managing themselves.

  • Tikanga Rua (Biculturalism)
To demonstrate, teach and pass on knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te Reo and tikanga Māori.

  • Manaakitanga (Nurturing)
Our role as teachers is to provide an environment that encourages and enables tamariki, whānau and wider community to fulfill their own unique potential. We build opportunities for social interactions with adults and other tamariki which identifies and acknowledges that each child is valued, important and has a part to contribute to society.
